Continuing Education Program The Capital Area Trauma Regional Advisory Council offers subsidized continuing education courses for its member agencies, as well as information about courses offered by our regional partners. Current class offerings can be found on the calendar and registration forms and information can be downloaded below. If you are interested in a course in the TSA-O area, but are not associated with a member agency, please contact us before sending in a registration. If your agency would like to host a course, let us know and we'll try to get it on the calendar. Rapid STEMI Recognition and Hypothermia - July 16, 2010: This continuing education activity provides Emergency Nurses with up-to-date information on recognizing signs and symptoms of a MI, responding to and treating STEMI patients and the post cardiac arrest candidates for Hypothermia. STEMI Recognition & Hypothermia Regional Trauma System Day at Hyatt Regency Austin - August 5-6, 2010: Trauma surgeons, Nurses, Residents and Program Managers are encouraged to attend this meeting to identify and prioritize issues related to access of high quality trauma and emergency surgical care in South Texas, including development of a legislative agenda. Flier: Regional Trauma System Day TNCC Provider Course at Lakeside Hospital at Bastrop, August 7-8, 2010: The TNCC Provider course is designed to provide core level knowledge and psychomotor skills associated with the delivery of professional nursing to the trauma patient. Official participation is limited to Registered Nurses. It is recommended that the RN participant have at least 6 months of clinical nursing experience in an emergency care setting. Other health professionals may attend and receive CECHs for hours attended. The Emergency Nurses Association will award 14 Type 1 CECHs for course completion. Provider Course Texas Injury & Violence Prevention Conference - August 16-18, 2010: Join us in Beautiful Austin, Texas to learn from state and national experts on injury and violence prevention. This conference is focused on providing attendeeds with training on the Core Competencies for Injury and Violence Prevention at all levels. CNE Credits will be available.
